Super Easy Hydrangea Headband Tutorial

Hello! Here's the tutorial I promise. It's finally done!

The Hydrangea Headband is super easy and super fast to make!

Your Supplies:

1. Scissor (to cut the felt)
2. Glue Gun
3. Color Felt Fabric (You can purchase the felt at your local craft store. I purchased mine at Micheal Art & Craft for $0.29)
4. Headband (any type should work. I am using a metal lined headband)
5. Hydrangea Petals
6. Small Rhinestones

Step One

Cut two identical oval shapes from the felt fabric. The sizes will depend on your headband. My shape is about 3inch long.

Step Two

Before you glue your hydrangea petals to the felt, I recommend laying out the petals first.
Then using your glue gun, glue the petals to one of the felt.

Step Three

Add rhinestones to the petals.

Step Four

Position where you want the flowers to be on your headband. I positioned my flowers more to the left of the headband so it doesn't look to center.

Add glue to the headband, and then place the flowers.

Please ignore my ugly chipped nail polish

The back should look like this when you are done gluing the flowers to the headband.

Step Five

Now add the second piece of felt to the first one.

Step Six

The last step! Remove any glue residue.

Your finish product should look something like this. :-)

I hope you enjoy making the headbands.

Please feel free to message me if you have any questions. Thanks!!!

HOW TO MAKE A SUPER EASY CLIPPIE!

Making clippies are super easy, cheap (less than 10 cents each) and fun! I made a bunch of these clips for my 2 year old daughter!

Your Supplies:

- Alligator clips (there are many different types. The one I am using is the single prong alligator clips. You can find it on my Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/listing/90571977/new-shop-for-2012-25-single-prong I also sell different types of alligator clips for lining ribbons.
- Fabri-Tac glue or a hot glue gun
- 3/8 ribbons You can buy ribbons at a craft store for $1.00. I purchased my ribbons at Micheal Art and Craft.
- Lighter for sealing the ends of the ribbons so they do not fray.
- Embellishments to put on the clippies (Optional)

Step One

Cut your ribbon to 4 1/2 inches. Use your lighter and seal the ends of the ribbon so it will not fray.

Step Two

Pinch the alligator clip open and insert the ribbon. This will align the ribbon and alligator clip property.

Step Three

Apply a small amount of glue along the length of the clip. If you put too much glue, it will get messy and will look like a big glob.

Step Four

Once you glue is applied, quickly fold the ribbon on the top.

Step Five

Add more glue between the pinch of the clip (top and bottom). And finally, add a dab of glue to the top part of the pinch and use the remaining ribbon to cover.

Glue on the top part of the Pinch

The finish clip!

Step Six (Optional)

I am going to add a flower embellishment to give m clip that "WOW" factor.

I added a dab of glue on the flower and placed it on the clip.

Finish Product!

Putting Together Hydrangea Petals

Here's a tutorial on how to put together the hydrangea petals you purchased from my Etsy. It's super simple!

Supplies:
- Hydrangea Petals Kit (You can purchase the Hydrangea Petals Kit on my Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/listing/89804098/diy-hot-pink-hydrangea-flower-kit-15)
- Fabric Tac Glue or Hot Glue Gun
- Alligator Clips/ Prong Clips (Optional/ This can also be purchase on my Etsy Shop)
- Felt Circle (Optional if you decide to put an alligator clip)

Step One

Let's open your Hydrangea Kit. The kit contains 15 Hydrangea Petals, 10 large and 5 small petals. It also includes 15- 5mm sparkly sew-on rhinestone!

I will be making a full flower by using 2 large petals and 1 smaller one.

Add a smudge of glue in the center on top of the first large petal. Then place the second large petal on top. Try your best to center the petals.

Step Two

Add a smudge of glue in the center on the second large petal. Then place the small petal on top.

Step Three

Let your glue dry for 5 minutes before adding the rhinestone.
I am using a pair of tweezers to help me pick the rhinestone up and center it.

Add a dab of glue on the rhinestone then center it on the small petal. Press the rhinestone down so it's glue securely onto the petal.

Your flower is all done!!! The next step shows how to put clip on.

Step Four (Optional)

Go grab your felt circle and alligator/prong clip.
I use my die-cutter to cut my felt into a heart.

Put the felt between the clip. Add glue to the FRONT side of the clip and felt.

Attach the clip to the bottom of the flower.

Let it dry.

Done!!!

Now you can use this as a hair clip just as it is or with a fold over elastic headband (see my tutorial on interchangeable headband using fold over elastic).
