HOW TO MAKE A PERMANENT HEADBAND WITH FLOWERS USING FOLD OVER ELASTIC

Supplies:

- Fold Over Elastic (you can purchase it on my Etsy Shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheElasticProject?section_id=10884027
- Fabric Tac Glue or Hot Glue Gun
- Measurement Tape
- Scissors
- Felt cut into a circle (Same or similar color to your flower)
- Flower(s)

Step One

Cut your Fold Over Elastic to the desired length. See chart below for the sizes and lengths.
To get a true custom fit, use the measurement tape to measure the head.

Newborn- 13 1/4"
3-6 Months- 14 1/2"
6-12 Months- 16"
12m- Tweens- 17 1/2"
Adult 18 1/2"

Step Two

Attach the ends of your elastic with Fabric Tac glue or with your hot glue gun by overlapping them about 1/4" for newborn & 1/2" for all other sizes.

Step Three

Time to add your flower on your headband. I'm using hydrangea flowers. You can purchase the hydrangea flowers on my Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/listing/89199892/two-piece-lavender-soft-handmade.

You can also purchase flowers at any craft stores. The flowers are usually attached to the stem, but you can pull them apart. (Stay tune for a tutorial)

Add a little glue to the elastic where the overlapping is and place the flower there. Make sure you glue the flower to the shiny side of the fold over elastic.

Step Four

Take the felt circle you cut and glue it on the back side of the flower.

Let the glue dry for at least and hour.

Final Product! I added two hydrangea flowers to my headband.
